Looking into my first cue purchase

BoBB

aka Pablo!
Okay ive been playing pool for a while now, and ive been using mostly not so good cues, house cues, and some ones I picked up for cheap which werent very good. I play pool enough to consider a serious purchase, and I was wondering what the best route would be to go. I dont want to spend more than $2-300 on a cue and I want to get a nice one of course :) I was looking into getting a custom cue and they dont appear to be that expensive unless you want them really fancy or by a famous cue maker. I was wondering if anyone knew of any low profile cue makers that are in that price range.

joseycues.com good stuff there around 240buks for a sneakypete. They hit like a telephone pole.

I agree...... you can also get a good deal from Blackheart from BD forums.

You can get one of his wrapless cues in that price range.

Bobb, one way to get a custom cue cheap is to buy it used. If you know anyone who plays with a custom cue and who is thinking of switching cues, you might want to talk to them about a purchase.

Quite a while back, I bought a nice custom cue pretty cheap off Jim Rempe that he had competed with but had tired of.

I dont really know many pool players =/ So that option is out, I liked the sneaky petes at joseycues.com though, about how long do those take to get?

Kieth will whip one up if you have the cash. I have a pete, and I ordered 1 for my cousin 3 weeks ago. I was informed it was completed yesterday. It is a pretty speedy process.

You might check out this thread. My budget range was a little smaller than yours, but comparable.

It's not a custom, but one of the threads had this link to a great priced McDermott.

Hey Bobb

There is a $530 Russ Espiritu cue on the AZ auction site selling for around $300 right now. There is also a $350 Bludworth sneaky pete on there for $250. They are both made by custom cuemakers. Both play well. Both are brand new.
