Looking online for house to fit 9'

Just another thought along some of the same lines. A friend of mine has an oversized 2 garage with the game room above it. I personally think it is the perfect setup. Partially detached from the house and plenty of room for a 9 footer plus a big screen TV and more.

Regards,
Dave

Hey Guys-
Being an avid pool player I will eventually get a 9 footer in a future house. The problem is getting a house with a room big enough to fit it. Have any of you tried to search online for a house with a room that size? Were you successful? Or did you have to go through a real estate againt and have him/her go through their inventory to find one with that size room? I haven't had any luck with looking with their small list of search parameters. How did you go house shopping to fit a pool table?

I live in the suburbs in the Austin, TX area. Lots of new homes and neighborhoods being built in the suburbs in most cities. If you are willing to live a little ways out, you can find what you are looking for. The builder I was looking at had lots of floorplans to choose from. The house I ended up building had a formal living and formal dining that was all one room at a size of 25'x18'! PLENTY of room for my 9' GC with lots of room left over. Its a 2300sq ft home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 1 study, family room, dining room, and my big ass poolroom! I'm a single woman and built this house just for the room for the pool table! :)

You may very well have plenty of suitors and not be single for very long.

Oh, and another thing. What is more important than having a 9 foot table??
Air, maybe food and water. Are you sure you are in the right forum? This is the AZ billiardfanatic/zealot/hardcorepurist/losehalfyourpaycheckatthepoolhall forum. Believe me, your wife will find plenty of other things for you to sacrifice (unless of course you are not married, then nevermind). Two uninterrupted nights with Pamela Anderson/Ewa Laurance is a WANT, a 9 foot table is a NEED. Just my opinion.

OK, a 9 foot table is neither a need nor a want... its a tradeforall :D

My first suggestion would be to look online at Watson Realty, or Buy Owner, etc...see what you can find in the area you want. My second suggestion would be to find a house that all your other requirements, and just add on a room. I think adding a room would be your best bet, because you would get exactly the size you want...let us know how it turns out!

Top Spin,
You are correct, I didn't really mean to criticize you. You were attempting to provide thoughtful, useful, practical advice. I was attempting to grease UW's slide down the slippery slope of hopeless pool addiction (I guess us addicts need some company down here).

I hear ya, Williebetmore. I'm a Realtor, and I suppose my advice could be painfully boring and no fun at all...
Hey, I know, UW can put an ad something like this in the paper:
Wanted: 9' pool table room with attached, 3 bedroom bungalow :)
Just kidding, I wish him well in his search!

Hi, I found that is hard to find a house with a room big enough for 9 footer. Most avarage houses have small rooms. Unless you have a house that actorss can afford.
Recently I have found one bedroom apartament with a living room big enough to fit a 9 footer. I have got myself Diamond Professional and I advice you to do the same!

good luck Voytek
