Looking to improve my game

Hey guys/gals, recently I underwent surgery on my left shoulder and had to stop shooting pool for a few weeks. Now that I am back up and shooting my whole timing and feel is off. I guess it's pretty natural for that to happen and one day it may just come back. Before I went for the surgery I wanted to improve my shooting ability but didn't know how or where to start.

I can go to the pool hall and shoot games with my friends and sometimes be shooting well and at other times shooting awful. I can go alone and run drills sometimes shooting well other times shooting awful. It's hard to know what I am doing right or wrong. Where do I need to improve? Is it my stroke? my aiming? something else? I guess the easiest way is to take some lessons with a coach (which I thought about but didn't know how to find a good one in my area NYC). I've seen tons of post talking about instructional DVD's aiming systems etc but how do you know which are going to be helpful and which are worth investing in? I've been playing in my local APA league for about 2 years and I've had some rough patches and some good runs and worked to a solid mid 4 ranking but I know there are many games I gave away and truly feel I have room for major improvement with the right instruction.

What advice could anyone offer on where to start? Looking for a coach/lessons? how do I find one? what dvd are worth investing in? How do I evaluate where I am at and where I should improve my game. Any help at all is a ton of help to me. Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you reply thank you in advance for helping me out.

Hi there,

My name is Gene Albrecht, the creator of Perfect Aim. I recently started a little program to give something back to a dozen AZ'ers like yourself and you asking for help is Perfect.

I will send you the Perfect Aim video at no charge. You can study it and work at it and call me anytime with any questions. I will make sure that you understand everything there is to know with Perfect Aim to help you improve your pool game faster than you ever thought possible.

So far I have sent out 5 videos. All I ask in return is that you will report your results on AZ so everyone can see it whether it be positive or negative. I will start a thread on AZ so the players that recieve their videos can share their progress with each other and anyone else that wants to see.

I have given around 800 personal lessons with Perfect Aim with about a 98% success rate. The main reason for the individual lesson success is I can make sure that you understand how this amazing technique completely so it will put you to the next level in a real quick hurry.

There has been some controversy about Perfect Aim. If you don't understand it and work hard at it and apply it to your game it can seem useless. But for the hundreds that understand how it works and have improved their games immensely it has been a great discovery.

The biggest complaint they have is they wish they would have learned this 10 or 20 years ago.

I am also working on some new techniques that make it easier than ever to learn Perfect Aim. I will be sharing these new things with you and you will be one of the judges and jury on how much it helps you.

I go in this thursday to talk to the surgeon about surgery on my shoulder. Kind of ironic in a way. Maybe you can share some of the dos and don't for after surgery.:help:

You seemed like a Perfect choice and know you will give it your best at learning Perfect Aim.

Just let me know and I'll get a video sent out right away and we can get rolling.

Have a great pool week. Thanks Geno..........:yeah::ok:.

It's impossible to diagnose your individual problems over the internet. Personal instruction is obviously the best course of action. A qualified instructor has been trained to observe you, help you find the problem areas, and help you develop a plan to address those issues.

If personal instruction is not an option, the next best thing would be to contact RandyG or Scott Lee on this forum and get their training DVDs. They explain many of the concepts we teach in pool school.

There are a few very good instructors around you. Tony Robles. Mark F. Just contact them...SPF=randyg
