i can see reasons for breaking to both sides....which is gonna offer the best chance of pocketing balls and spreading?

does it change if its a wing ball or a ball behind the one?

Same side according to "Racking Secrets" by Joe Tucker. He says 3 to 10 inches off the spot, I've been doing this with success since about 2000 when I got the book.

I watched the "Racking Secrets" video by Joe Tucker. He really analyzes the rack and depending on any gaps, explains which ball may be pocketed and why on the break, what side to break from, and other tips. Well worth viewing.

ok i.ma give u a red light special on this it works good too if the 2 wing balls aint touching the 2 back balls they both got a chancce of going in now if theres 1 ball thats not touching say the left wing ball ain touching the 1 back ball then u break from the from the same side i think depending on the cap the bigger the cap the more u move over from the middle of the table if alll the balls are touching but the second 2 u break down the middle works for me try this out an let me know ow it works Robley

Im not giving away joe's secrets for free. That would be no different than just burning his dvd and sending you a copy. Hes a forum member and a good guy. Just buy the dvd. Or use the search function.

No worries, but someone else might be reading your thread who is interested in the best resource available on the subject. Honestly, it would be a disservice to anyone who asked for help on the rack not to direct them to Racking Secrets, so you see, it simply had to be mentioned or we would have failed you as a message board.
