Not long ago, I had a couple local players have their "slip on" collars come loose (they were cheap production cues). Also, a couple of cues have come into my place with loose ferrules.
I recently purchased a slightly used Joss from a member here on AZ which looked to be in immaculate condition. However, the first time I went to shoot with it, I noticed the hit wasn't as solid as my other Joss cues...Hhmmmm," I said to myself. I went to unscrew the shaft and the collar unscrewed as well.
"Hmmmmm," I said to myself again...along with a few other choice words. (I already PM'd the seller informing him about the problem and that I wasn't blaming him...I really don't think he knew there was a problem).
Anyway, my question is; what type of epoxy or glue is used to secure the collar and is it the same type that is used to secure ferrules as well? Is it something I can pick up at Ace Hardware or something I have to special order.
I know some of you guys are going to think this is common knowledge type stuff, but I'm not common...and very short on knowledge...of any kind...Any advice from the experts on here would be greatly appreciated!
