I want to get the low down on the best poolrooms in the Los Angeles area (including the South Bay). I am most familiar with the Golden Cue in south El Monte, but I would like information on membership rates, table conditions, quantity of friendly regular players, good/bad treatment of players by staff/manager/owner, etc. I've been to several other rooms, but I don't remember much about them.

If you know another room and can share these stats with me I'd appreciate it.

Golden Cue has a phenominal deal for the avid player. $60.00 a month to play all you want.

i dont know of any other membership deals out there as good as that one.

Hard Times is $70.00 a month from 11am to 6pm. Very good daytime crowd. 9 Ball, 8 Ball and 1 Pocket. 90% of the time there is a golf game on their 6' x 12'. Not a lot of daytime action but some talented guys to play with. Senior rates are $2.50 per hour. Limited food, no booze. Simonis on 20+ tables.

While In the South Bay, check out Mr. Lucky's, an institution there for over 30 years. It's on Hawthorne, at Torrance Blvd. Only about a dozen tables, but super tight Gold Crowns by Ernesto and three Diamond bar tables.

Good players, with One Pocket quite popular, and decent rates. Very player friendly place. Easy parking and good restaurants nearby.
