Is it just me that has lost intrest in following tournaments with $600 to $1000 to the winner since the IPT held those high purse ones. You play for two days and beat a bunch of other world beaters and that's all you get...it's sad. I know you get paid at the smaller ones. I'm not asking that. Johnnyt

I lost interest in them around the time it was about $1,000 to the winner.

It never did make any sense to me to go play for 2 days in a smoke filled pool room for $1,000. I play for the pure pleasure and joy of playing. This might sound weird, but I play at least 10 games of 9 ball with my wife when I get home from work everyday. It also seems to take the pleasure out of it if I gamble. I just love the game and want to play.

If you play this game to make money, of course you'll "lose interest." If you play this game because you enjoy it, then you will not. Either way, of course it is sad that the years of practice and perfection of these players is not more rewarded, but that is just the way it is...at least for now. If everyone would quit watching other sports and watch pool, everything would change...but good luck with that!

When I said following touraments I meant going to watch them or follow on here...not to play in them. But that's got to be getting old for the players to be playing for so little cash too. Johnnyt

I'm getting tired of pool for the same reasons I would get mad at the short-stops here for getting tired of pool. I can't get in any fair games. I can't even give my money away - unless it's playing even with someone who should be giving up the 7,8.
I make a score here and there... $1,000 is the norm - and everyone makes a big deal about it - fact is I get upset when I make the G, because I feel like I should've made alot more. A month ago I played a guy $20 a game 1p and came out $900 winner - we played for 16 HOURS!!.. Room full of smoke, and I'm staying up until like 2p.m... I don't feel like it's worth it... but then again, it's the only action I can get.

Mean while, I'm heading out to a couple rooms right now... how hooked am I?
