Ok lets see what everyone thinks.............
CLiff Joyner
Hennessee
Tater
Keith Bennett

My vote is for Cliff..............he really put it out there especially on the weekend

Keith Bennett played more high dollar action with more players day in and day out than any other 2 people there. He played his ass off and sometimes had a little the worst of it (like getting the 8 from Shane VonB) but kept battling. Anyone who was there for the whole event and paying even a little attention would know. There was only 1 night Keith didn't show up and he had played into the previous morning. Cliff played maybe 3 sessions that I saw. Hennessee was not in as much action as he seemed to be last year.

If the award is just turned into a popularity contest of people who were only there for a weekend or not at all, then the award is a sham and a shame.

That's what we're trying to avoid by having people who actually witnessed action at the Derby City be eligible to vote.

yeah the more i think about it cliff really does deserve it!
because he gave up really good spots to good players for action and still
won! he did play durbin for a long time never gave up and beat him
after giving him 10-7 thats heart. even though keith might have been just a little more visible it goes to cliff.

Has a winner been declared yet? Peace, John.
Then winner will be announced through the billiard magazines in about a month.

All the votes have not come in, as of this writing.

There's a kid that not everyone recognize's but he was in action almost every night and when he wasn't in action, he was looking for it....Brandon Shuff. He also posts here on AZB. He's a regular on the Tiger Planet Pool tour and a young gun out of the VA/DC area. His game has really come along the last yr or so and I was happy to see him betting it up at the Derby. LOL, the only time I saw him NOT happy was when he couldn't find a game. Even if I didn't grab a seat & sweat the action every night, I at least checked in every night to see who was playing. Cliff and Brandon... one or the other seemed to always be in there.

On a side note.... for you TX folks... it sure was good to see Joey Barnes out of Arlington, TX betting it up. It's been a long, long time since I've seen Joey and it took me a few min to recognize him. LOL, I think the only reason he knew me was because I was wearing a baseball hat which is what I used to always wear when I lived in TX.
