Heyas Keith, is there by any chance you might hit up a Tourney or pass thru Louisiana by any chance.......From what I notice I never hear of any pro's or players at a pro level come to this hot humid state..

Jamie

Possibly you have heard of Buddy Hall...he lived in Shreveport for several years (10+) and played out of Red Box's pool room. They had an ad in Billiard News for a while in the mid 70's guaranteeing $10,000 in action to all comers. He was living in Shreveport when he was on the cover of the Sports Illustrated and became known as "The Rifleman".

Another player from Louisiana you may have heard of is Scotty Townsend. He was ranked in the top 25 players in the country for several years.

Keith came to Baton Rouge in the early 80's for a tournament and a wager or two...we mostly knew him as "evil" in those days...liked to play barefooted as I recall...did pretty good in the payball game as well (mixed with Handsome Danny Jones, Red Briet, U J Puckett, Louie Roberts, Jerry Brock, Buddy Hall, etc.). But I don't think Evil would have noticed the humidity or the temperature cause he never left the poolhall.

I don't know what area you're in but I can direct you to some action pretty quick...drop me a PM for directions.

Andy

Hitman would you happen to know the date of the Sports Illustrated Buddy Hall was on? Thanks

I think I may have heard of Buddy Hall........Ever heard of Mike Broussard?? Heard he could have went pro or did or some story or another. Hit Im in Big Mamou.........sure yas heard of it......Cajun Music Capital of this lil World. I live between Metairie and Mamou every other week cause of Fiance' and college. Im not that much of a good action player....mainly crappy APA bar league and doen BCA once.......loved it. Although I would love to make money playing pool.........I guess Im kinda like the person who is afriad to lose it more than win it hehehe.

Jamie, I will definitely be down there within the year sometime. Looking forward to that Southern hospitality. There's always been some type of action in Louisiana. All the action from what I heard is in New Orleans and Mobile. Maybe I'll see you in one of those spots! ;)

Keith,
I remember a few years back, you came through New Orleans. I watched a matchup with you and Ricky P. Playing a scotch Doubles match against A Local in Houma Jason Lafleur and A guy from Tx. Named I believe Corey Lee on the bar Table. Watching you play on the small table was quite impressive. I dont remember seeing you miss but a couple of balls all night. I hope that you can make it to Mobile or Gulfport later this month. Tournaments usally draw a strong field and the payouts have been real good.

Saintsfan, I remember that game with Ricky P. on the bar table, with Jason and Corey. That was a lot of fun. Last time I saw Jason Lafleur was in Las Vegas. He was playing in the bar table league tournament.

I always liked coming to Houma, and hopefully I'll make it back there sometime soon. Maybe I'll see you, too, Saintsfan! :)

Now if you visit Houma then you must come to Metairie and play at Whitey's...it's a older fashoined pool joint but good beer prices and quite fun.......Maybe even try to get a good friendly game with yas :D...be a honor :D
