Low I.Q. and the death of pool action.....

Anyone who has studied psychology knows that the majority of people have an I.Q. of 100 or somewhere between 15 points above or below that mark. It has also been remarked that the two most prevelant human emotions is fear and laziness which would be characteristic of who many have dubbed joe six pack. The success of and duration of any cultural phenominon is dependent on whether or not this chunk of society embraces it; which brings us to the question of pool vs. poker.

This post maybe a restatement of many other threads on the same subject but I think it deserves notice. Hustleing is dependent on an individual who has skill and one who thinks he has skill. It takes a level of stupidity for a poor player to beleive that he can win in pool. In past years there were more suckers out there to be victimized by the elder statesmen of our sport. Fast forward 50 years and you have huslter folk lore as shown in the hustler and the colar of money and a million pool hall legends of road players. All of a sudden idiots are getting wise to the fact that they do not add up. These same single brain celled organisms concurrently are watching espn and the travel channel, they get invited to a house game, win a few hands and wammo they think they can play poker. Over a few months these same slugs sit in front of their computers alternating between downloaded porn and party poker. Now they think they are ready to go to vegas, all the while they have not darkened the door of the local pool hall.

My point in this Micholob lager induced ramble is this: Play pool for the love of the game and the love of doing a challenging pursuit well. Don't expect to go to a pool hall and play anyone for money who is not a great player. Easily won action in pool is dead-----move on!!!!!

What is the saying? Sometimes it is better to stay mum and be thought an idiot than to opens one's mouth and remove all doubt.

You are trying too hard to sound intelligent.

Your unnecessary stereotyping is probably a reflection of your own self. What a dumb post.

They are not the same ...

Being naive and stupid are necessarily the same thing.
There are always going to be naive people in the world
walking into a local Pool room somewhere, and yes,
there will be the local hustler's ready to hold class
for them.

Now, the stupid people think they are much smarter than
what they are, usually after 5-7 drinks when their shooting
becomes much better ... lol They will always come back,
their education takes a long time ...

Your spelling is almost as bad as Cuetechasaurus's. Take my advice and don't talk about IQ level on this board. You might offend a lot of people.
