Dave,

It might be harder for some to learn to shoot with a solid shaft, but in the end no matter what you are using you have to get used to it. When you do, there is no conscious compensating for speed or english, it's done automatically on the sub-conscious level.

My choice in your poll would be, None of the above.
Why would you not pick:
any player at any level would be just as good with either type of cue

Dave

When answering the question, assume the player has always used the same cue. So you are comparing how good the player would be if they had always used a low-squirt cue vs. how good they would be if they had always used a cue with more squirt (e.g., twice the amount of squirt as the low-squirt cue). Assume all other factors are equal. Also assume that the player uses English (i.e., squirt will be a factor).

If I understand your control statement correctly then I would answer :

"any player at any level would be just as good with either type of cue"

Neither shaft allows for 'zero' corrections so IMO , it would not matter which they have become accustomed too once they have become acccustomed to either.

In a variation of the poll question , I might have answered that :

"initially . . . a beginner or intermediate player would be better with a low-squirt cue."

But

Over a longer term then :

"any player at any level would be just as good with either type of cue"

Due to the generally smaller corrections required by a LS cue and the lack of knowledge said player would have on the subject giving them more overall success with the lesser ability they currently posess.

IMHO. ;)

-no propporsity tip-time warp speed

put something about no proporsity tip, Kamui on ob-1, what would the time frame, mil.sec ( do you thing the new cue ob-1 cue adds ,or is the shaft enough?) I played 8-ball banked all balls, ran out - the first shots with Troys( DEMO) ob-1 3/8-10, changed tip today, with play 8 hrs with the shaft later today. I think the shaft played soft but accurate it went straight towards the ball with some english. cueball moved very easy, had a confident attitude when I went out. All I played was 2 games. Went to watch 200. agame action instead. mark it is a kamuii II med. tip now.

I'm not so sure beginner and some intermediate players become "accustomed" to a cue. In other words, I think it is possible they don't know how to adjust for squirt, swerve, and throw, regardless of what cue they are using. With certain shots, if the player does not adjust his or her aim for squirt, the lower-squirt cue might give them a better chance of pocketing the ball (because the CB will head closer to the direction they are aiming). Now, in general, if a player does not compensate one's aim for squirt, swerve, and throw, they will miss many shots with English, regardless of the type of cue.
