Lube for your shaft

I love cue silk on my maple shafts, as it is an excellent product, however I do not like it on my laminated Edge Hybrid shaft.

I have heard this happens from others as well such as Kathy from Nielsen's Billiards.

It does not make it similarly smooth, and it must have something to do with the laminates, and likely due to the fact that I sometimes use Q-paper micro burnishing papers and even 1200 and 2000 grit paper when I get a slight dent on it (leather burnishing finally. My laminated shaft is therefore not sealed. And the 100 percent carnauba wax in soft paste or hard carnauba, which has been suggested on posts read here, do not work.. and end up making it a bit sticky after 30 mins of play.

I have found Q-slick and Q-glide to be better suited for laminated shafts than cue silk. It is the only thing that works for me on laminated shafts such as the Edge hybrid. While Q products have been discontinued.. it is possible to still buy online at large name brand Billiard merchants.

It is noted that silicone permeated shaft microfiber products are sold.. I just have not tried them or met anyone that used them.
