Lucasi Cues

I'm about to get my 2nd cue... my First cue was a fiberglass Halex Titanium... and now I'm ready to move on.
Lucasi Cues seem real nice, and good, especially for its money too. I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations in the Lucasi line? Looking to spend about $250 probably, $300 max, but prefer the $200-250 range.

I played with 3 Lucasi's before I moved on to my KC cue. They played well for me, but they hit so damn hard. I didn't realize how hard until I moved to a wood to wood joint shaft. They were responsive to me, but that was because I was a banger, now I play a more finesse game so I get more from teh wood to wood joints. I wouldn't not recommend getting one, unless you tried to buy one for any where near $250 - $300. You can get two for that price, I know because I did. For that money I'd sell you my KC cue :-).
 
For that dough, check out William Dominiak cues.

Zim sells them, as does Greg at BilliardsWarehouse.com

DZ makes basic cues in that range, as well.
 
Well I do want to actually be there to check out the cues and see how they feel, etc, etc.
 
In addition, is it for the WHOLE stick or just either the top or the shaft?
 
As you can tell, I'm kind of new to buying cuesticks. The only reason I'm a little weary of buying custom cues is because I'm not the best, but I'm improving after each game, and I want to get serious (not pro, but like tournaments)

Like a lot of sports, it's not the equipment but the person who plays and I don't want to get a stick that would be too good for me or anything like that. Maybe there are customs that fit me, but I have no idea. That's why I'm asking for help.

The top is the shaft ;) , isn't it :confused: The price of a cue is for the butt and the shaft, or even 2 or 3 shafts depending on the cue and the maker, and even the seller for that reason.
 
My mistake there.
So anyways, about my comment above, is that true or can I still get a custom cue, if I am serious and still learning the game as I play each day?
 
you should get one of the lucasi cues with the radial pin...they have a wood to wood joint and play as well as any custom cue i've ever played with or any cue period to be honest...i play with an le-r model...this is a great cue and very inexpensive...the shafts on this style of cue are incredible for a mass produced cue line...i don't like the regular lucasi cues but this line is a step above the rest
 
I've played with real Balabushkas and on down and none play any better than the Lucasi cue I paid $288 for with 2 shafts. Looks good too.......See.
