Lucasi cues

This Lucasi is at the top of my "wish list". Hope to be rubbing her in a few weeks. Since it has a leather wrap, I don't have to worry about it unraveling.

Rambosky, that L-E56 Lucasi is a sharp looking stick,,,,one that I'd buy if I didn't already have too many sticks to shoot with,,,,, j

I play with a LE9 Lucasi and have no complaints, it's on the low end dollar wise ($135) but I like it. Don't look to bad either.

Lucasi cues was made by Hamson factory in dongguan, they are the largest cue factory in the world, but they sell to cue&case in the US only.

That is actually one of the models that I own. I have 3-4 Lucasi cues. I use them to play with in my bar league. In my opinion, they play very well. I put Moori medium tips on them and I honestly feel that they play about as well as some of the expensive custom cues that I own.

people from cue&case's email to me ever use @cueandcase.com.but i never succeed in viewing their website, not sure why, their director and magager's email both with it.

I play with a Lucasi and love the cue, it was short money @ $135. I would replace the original tip though. I have let a few other players use it and they all liked the hit and feel.

i had been working with a business man in the US to set up a cue line named schaefer, mostly inlayed cues, they played very well, but he is pool in business, short of plan and brightness,.this is frustrated:mad:

now our cues bave been made same quality as Lucasi, decal cues no difference, the CNC inlay cues, they are better than us.

Are any other cues besides Lucasi made at the Hamson factory?

I think before they went uniloc they had some radial pin Lucasi's. I much prefer them to my uniloc Lucasi which didnt have a terrible hit to begin with.

the hampton ridge,5280,action can not compete with lucasi because of the quality, but we can make it same as lucasi quality, for the decal cues,

Are you familar with Kao Kao?

When the Lucasis first came out, they were beautiful cues. Incredible detail and very reasonably priced. They hit well and the uni-joint completed the package. I was selling them as soon as they came in. I'm a little disapointed in the design of the new models.
I guess, like anything else, when you're new and hungry you offer more for less. When you become more successful, you get a little fat and lazy. That's only my opinion.
One thing that I have learned, is that ugly sells. These days, I can't believe some of the cues that "fly" out of my room. I can only assume that their marketing people know what they're doing. I wish I had held onto a couple of the originals. They really were nice looking cues.

Hey,
Very first cue I ever bought was a Lucasi. I still have it. I bought it about 5 years ago. It looks just like the model L-2004NB. It has the 5/16 x 18 joint which is what they used before they went to almost all uniloc I believe. I still shoot with it every now and then and I still like it very much.

Doesn't Thorsten shoot with a Lucasi?

BVal

no i think thorsten plays with a custom cue made in germany

Thorsten's cue is quite interesting.

He's endorsed by Lucasi (and the Universal Smart Shaft) and I've seen him play with the same Lucasi, both in tournaments and in practice when he's in NYC.

However, I have never been able to find the model of Lucasi that he plays with. I've looked at a lot of retailers, and haven't found it for sale in stores or online. But having seen it up close, I can vouche that it's a Lucasi.

Weird, eh?

This is not true. At a recent show I was next to a Lucasi dealer and we selected ten cues at random including the sneaky pete to compare. 10 of mine were from Kao Kao and the Lucasi/Players were from Hamson. The Fury/Sterling (only brands I had) were about the same or superior to the equivalently priced cues from Hamson.

As a result I picked up a nice $3000 order from that dealer who also happens to be a cuemaker.

It will be rough going to establish a line of cues in the USA that are from Asia in the $200 plus range.

Cue and Case did it with 10 years worth of double full page ads, and dedicated salespeople on the road.

If you are willing to provide the sort of investment that Jim Lucas put into establishing the Lucasi brand then you have a shot.
