Lucasi Curly Purpleheart

They got lucky.
Now, if you find a Brazilian Rosewood house cue, lemme know right away. LOL
Or if you see a bridge ( in some rinky dinky bar) made of Titlist cue offer the owner a new cue.

I don't get it!?!
I see the changing shaft as well as the case pic w/ different cue in it...can't tell what is notable about the butt though. And the Hoppe/ bridge reference, huh?

There is such a thing as curly PH, yet that is not a good enough picture to tell if it is. IMO it could just as easily be stained curly maple. I know the discription says Curly PH but it als says "inlayers" so how much can we take serious from this seller, not to mention he is a salesman. Enough said. If anyone has some nice curly PH stock or has a source please PM me.

The description said "purple heart," no mention of it being curly, which makes it more believable that Lucasi got lucky and chopped into a piece of curly PH.

Looking at the close-up of the buttsleeve, the grain pattern seems to indicate PH, and in the full-cue shot the curls really shows up.

Anyway, just thought it was interesting that many custom cuemakers spend all this time looking for curly PH, and some factory in China got lucky and didn't even know it.

Of course, you could be right and the whole hoopla could be over some red-stained maple.

Curly PH

Hi Jim,
I am a Custom Cue Builder out of Michigan....
I have a nice selection of Curly Purple Heart on hand.... I think that I have turned all of my pieces round for drying, and they are roughly 2 inch round x 15 inches long.... It has been drying in my shop for about 6 months and was kiln dried before I purchased it. I have also dipped it in Nelsonite.... If you are looking to purchase some, get back to me...
