I bought another Lucasi cue this week. its the L-2004NB, very nice looking cue. as i've said before, i think i play with my other Lucasi cue just as good if not better than some of my custom cues.

Anyway, on the butt it says "Lucasi Custom" and i am just wondering what exactly does that mean? Do i assume Mr. Lucasi built this one by hand rather than letting an assembly line build everything?

Mike

Custom means it's just one of their design lines, example: Custom / Hybrid, etc. The custom's don't have the laminated Zero flex point shafts included with them but of course a matching shaft can be purchased separatly or with some dealers upgraded to at time of purchase. Nice cues for sure.

You do realize there isn't a Mr. Lucasi right? There is a Mr. Lucas that imports the cues.

Mike, Lucasi cue cues are made in China and they are not custom. They are production made in multiples, some are limited to 25 and other designs have been made for many many years.

Now I agree the cues play well and they are a nice production cue, but the word custom doesn't make them custom.

No disrespect intended but there is no Mr. Lucasi, however, there may be a Mr. Lee, Mr. Ho, Mr. Jo or so on but there are no Italians works in the Chinese factory Kao Kao that makes those cues, and they will never be collectible.

I think my Lucasi may be a true custom made by Ling Chou.
I had to tighten the weight bolt and when I took the bumper off I found a hand written note. " Help I am being held prisoner in a Chinese cue factory"
signed Ling Chou.

I have not seen a note in any yet, but I have removed a weight bolt and had Rice fall out. You know how they stop the salt in salt shakers from sticking together by putting Rice in them to absorb moisture, well Lucasi does the same thing when they are shipped on the Ocean from China. The wholesaler is suppose to remove the Rice before they sell the cues but sometimes I think some gets stuck up inside, which will cause a rattle, and that is why I had to remove the weight bolt on that cue, to date Lucasi is the only cue I have found with this problem.;)

Rattling Rice, only in Chinese cues man!!!!!:grin-square:

FYI they're not made in Kao Kao.

Lucasi cues get their name from Jim Lucas who is the owner of Cue and Case in Jacksonville. Like Predator and several other big name brands they are made overseas and imported.

Ok, i just noticed on the other side of the butt plate it has the numbers 999.

and what might that tell me?

DCP

That's a little confusing because it should be the manufacture date of 9-'99 but that doesn't make sense, so I'm not sure what that number means now.

I never looked at mine before. So i just looked and mine has 711 on it.
That is the name of a legendary NY city poolroom from the old days.
I think I read somewhere that it has something to do with internal production numbers in the top secret factory where they are made.

Made in July of 2011. Now I'm going to have to kill you.

I have this cue with pred 314-2 shaft and I think it's a good bang
For the buck cue. No issues at all with it
