Lucasi laminated shaft?

Hey all,

I was curious if anyone knew who was making the laminated shafts for Lucasi. I was also wondering what makes this shaft different from the other "low deflection" shafts.
I'm not familiar with production lines cues so I was hoping one of the dealers here could answer the question for me.

This statement from the ebay listing should provide the clue.
This shaft has same basic construction as the leading, number one 10 piece shaft and is actually made in the same facility as the leading shaft in the world. If you are looking to save some money and get the same basic technology in an 8 piece shaft, buy the Lucasi Hybrid shaft and save!

I'm not a dealer, but its my understanding that Lucasi and Pedator OEM out from the same factories in china. Which is why the weight bolts and unilock are interchangeable.
The main difference between a Predator LD shaft and other laminated shafts is the patented hollow/foam filled core.

I wasn't asking so that I could make a purchase decision. I received one as a replacement shaft as the original shaft that came with the cue was slightly warped. Not so much that it was unplayable but when you purchase something that is advertised as new you expect that it is perfect.

Anyway, I have the shaft and I was considering including it with another cue I have for sale and I was curious what the deal was so I could inform a potential buyer.

these lucasi shafts are basically the old universal smartshaft LS without the interchangeable joint. they also have a slim version that is like the TX8 smartshaft.

the laminations have nothing to do with deflection, the deflection reduction is in the ferrule design. they have a thin wood tenon with some kind of lightweight wood or cork over it, then a thin walled ferrule. not as low deflection as a predator though, but still lower than a traditional shaft. i like both these lucasi shafts and the universal, they play very similar. the taper is a little more aggressive on the universal, the lucasi has a longer, straighter taper, but that is about the only difference.
