Can somebody tell what the difference between lucasi standard cue and lucasi hybrid? Specially in their butt construction. By the way, I have 2 lucasi hybrid and 1 lucasi lhf10 . You know what? They play very well ( I use 314_2 shaft)

The main difference is in the Hybrid shaft. It is spliced construction, similar to Predator shafts. The difference in the butts has primarily to do with cosmetics ... exotic woods, materials, cushion grip, metal fusion inlays, etc.

Lucasi Hybrid Butt Technology

I'm sorry, I had to chime in on this thread. The Lucasi Hybrid has a lot of technology in the butt. In fact, The butt is what makes the cue his so much better than all the other cues I've personally owned in the past. The material under the wrap is called X-Shox which is patented by Lucasi and reduced vibration in the cue. So normally when you hit the ball, the vibration travels down the shaft thru the butt and into your hand (which you can fill). With the Hybrid wrap, after you hit the ball, the vibration travels down the shaft, into the butt and stops at the beginning of the rubber wrap (don't feel in your hand). That's why Lucasi Hybrid can advertise they have more technology in their cues than any other brand including Predator, McDermott, OB, Etc...

Now for the shaft... it's an 8 piece laminated pie shaped shaft with low tip mass construction ferrule which provides a low deflection hit (like Predator, OB, McDermott I-shafts, Mezz technology shafts, etc...). All Lucasi Hybrids come with a Moori Medium tips standard which would normally cost you at least $25 more as an upgrade. All Lucasi's (custom or Hybrid) come with a full Lifetime Warranty against warpage and defects (make sure to hang onto your receipt). The slim shaft is a thinner version of the original (11.75mm) and if you like this size then you have to try it. It's the most incredible hit, you get crazy action and you can control the ball unlike any other shaft this is this thin. Try it and you will see why we replace other brands that I won't mentioned shafts. This shaft is the NUTZ!

The Regular Lucasi's that have been sold for 20 years are come with a 100% North American hard rock maple shaft with a solid piece of Maple. It has a standard ferrule and everest tip. It has normal deflection like your Joss, Viking, Shon, etc.. They also come with Linen, leather, wood wraps. They have the same quality and same warranty.

For people that don't like the rubber style wraps can buy any standard Lucasi Custom and upgrade the shaft to a low deflection Hybrid shaft for small upgrade which is much cheaper than buying a full cue and an addition technology shaft.

I am sorry to butt in on this conversation and babble with all the salesman talk but it's a brand that I personally believe in and it's not just because I work for Lucasi Cues :) I have owed many brands of cues that I won't mention but I challenge anybody to try out the Hybrid cue and it's wrap against any cue on the market no matter the cost. These cues are the best hitting cues I've ever tried and they have the best value in the market.

For the person that was playing with a hybrid cue and a Predator shaft... I am a little confused on that one since the shafts are very similar in technology and since they're made in the same factory the quality is just as good and you could have saved $250 for the shaft?? But if you're happy with that combo, we are happy to have you a part of the Lucasi family.

Again, thanks for reading my rambling and I hope this answered any questions and I hope it helped in some way.

Happy Holidays,
