Ok, whats the low down on these cues.

Sunday a friend of mine just got back from Vegas so we gambled a bit and he showed me his new Mace JB, and it looks very nice and breaks very nice too.

But damn it felt like a twig in my hand. How good are these compared to something like a Omen, Gilbert or Josey, and other big custom cue guys.

Also it looks like it has a phenolic tip but wasnt sure?

I must agree with "Only ERO's".... I have tried many j/b cues, though I have naver tried a omen or a gilbert. I have found that for me a Mace with a hard waterbuffalo breaks/jumps,better than what I have tried....one thing that I do like about the Mace is that you can also play with them, unlike phenolic tipped cues.... Rick makes one hell of a cue for 325.00....just my .02

Say Dave, the Mace is a great Jump break. The Taper of the cue is why it works so well.

Just for a little information on this cue and this cue maker.

Rick Howard, was a Pro-player on the tour in the 1980's. He then began building cues.

Rick was the inventor of the Jump / Break cue three piece combination during the 1980's.

His design is now considered the standard for the industry, and all other cue makers have copied it in one way or another.

They may use different tappers, phenolic tips/ferrules or even different diameter shafts and butts, but they all have copied the Mace design.
