Found this shaft on ebay, seller says they're made by Joss. What do you guys think?.:) Please note, I did email seller and specifically asked who made this shaft, answer=Joss.
 
Im calling BS, this guy seems to MISrepresent alot of things. He gets away with it by his listings saying the shaft "is for Joss", others he says "is just like ***"
I would say its one of the cheap shafts that are floating around on there, I think I saw one that said Panther?

I just looked into his store and noticed he's using the same pics for Mcdermott, Schon and Meucci shafts. Think you're right, and he's also selling some of that Panther stuff. Seller claimed to not know what the ferrule and joint material were, which immediately got my red flags up.

Thanks for your thoughts. Just needed to know that I'm not being my usual cynical self.:)
 
His shafts are all made by panther. They are really a decent shaft for the money but they are not Joss.
 
yes.. those shafts are made by J&J.. i sold quite a few of them. and they are nice quality for a $50 shaft..

but they should no way be misrepresented like that...

he was also selling meucci shafts, and saying they were meucci original shafts which they were also the same shafts with a 5/16x18 flat face joint..

and who is 'panther' ?...is there a web site ?....and contact info for 'panther' would be appreciated.........:confused:
 
I like how he calls a conical taper a "new" taper just like on the Z shaft.......and it has a layered tip just like a moori.

They are imports I believe, One of J&J's line of cues. Last time I saw, I think they were listed on their website. Kaiser is one of theirs also.

Sell a lot of them... Nice if a customer does want an extra shaft for a cue, and does not want to spend $100 and wait a couple of weeks. Comes with a nice taper, and nice layered tip. Check them out here:

The shaft is a J&J, this seller is a crook. He will say anything / do anything to make a sale.

Just look at the tip, ever seen one of those on a Joss. That tip is straight Asian, and I also am a dealer for J&J, I have those shafts in stock currently.

Jack, Panther is a line of cues offered by J&J. They are about the same qaulity as Lucasi.

I use to be dealer for them also, until I switched to another supplier. I sold quite a few of their cues and cases to league players years ago, They're alright for the money, but I aggree they should'nt be advertised as something they are not. With the shafts back then, some were better then others, just depended on what you were sent. I did have some that the inserts were'nt centered on very well, but if you received a good one, It was certainly cheaper then Having a shaft custom made, and most average league players would go that way as opposed to 100 or more for a custom shaft.:)

I just read the ad and unless I misread it, it doesn't say it is made by Joss. He sneaks in the words Joss, Predator and Morri in there as search words to get more hits on his auction.

No, he doesn't claim the shaft is made by Joss in his auction description, but when I emailed him and asked him, he said it was made by Joss.

He's not misrepresenting anything in the auction description, but if you happen to be cautious and ask, you get the BS treatment.;)
