Hey, I have some magic racks on the way, and I am interested in starting to play more straight pool and 1 pkt, and was just curiou if anyone had any thoughts on the use of a magic rack for either of those games.

I am thinking that the nature of the divets would inhibit the subtle movements of the formation from saftey play or the gentler break shots involved, but due to only a very basic understanding of 1 pkt, and limited experience with 14.1 coupled with a complete lack of experience wiith the magic racks (mine should be here any day), figured some of you might have a more educated opinion...

I don't think I would work for that. But it works great for practicing your 9 ball break. I tape mine in place and then just work on my break. You can go thru a lot of racks in a short time
 
Magic rack

The magic break rack is NOT over rated- especially in tournament play.

I bet it will save 20-30 minutes in some matches!
