I like to see places like this ..

:thumbup:Man Shawn, that is a nice room, I only wish there was a place somewhere up in my area that was that nice and big. It looks like a real great place to play and good atmosphere. Glad to see pictures like this and to see this sport is alive and thriving in other areas. One thing for sure if there was ever a place up here like this my wife would always know where to find me !! LMAO ! Thanks for showing <<ED

Funny you say that.....me and a friend was coming to Tulsa yesterday morning, I called Pete Petree about a shaft he had for me and he told me about the 4-10 rated tourney....so me and my friend went to play in it....around 6pm my wife sends me a text, " if your in Tulsa right now, are you at Magoos playing?" Well, we just barely made it to the tournament

Every time I come to Tulsa, my wife always says, dont forget your case:grin: She knows me all too well

And yes, Magoos is a very clean place to play pool, and the food is out of the world!

great photos.....thanks for reminding me I'm stuck with slow freddies and Rick-o-shits in my area. Magoos is a fine pool hall, my second favorite place to play behind the Tulsa Billiards Palace which closed :( :crying:

Amen. Magoos is a fine room with nice tables, pretty girls, and good food but the Palace with its low ceilings, constant cloud of cigarette smoke, and non-stop action was what a pool hall should be.

I loved The Palace.....but, I could do without all the smoke....I smell like donky dung every time I leave Magoos, or any pool hall that allows smoking for that matter.....That aside, I personally like Magoos better. I played ALOT at The Palace back in 1993-1994 and loved it as well....although, it didnt seem as smokey there....it mustof been because I was 25yrs old and it about the best shape of my life then and could handle it better.

Bump for a great tourney.......Was talking to Gabe tonight and Earl Strickland and John Schmidt just to name a few will be at the 1 Pocket Tourney...also some overseas players may be there as well.

I will be taking pics and posting them on here for everyone to see that cant make it.

We were never able to stay at the Palace more than a few minutes, due to that smoke cloud they were so well known for. That was back in the day, when we both still smoked. We met our youngest son up there, once. He used to play there a lot. We couldn't stay. Wished him luck in the tournament and left, coughing, with a huge headache that wouldn't go away for a long time. That was the last time we ever went there.

I liked the way the Palace was set up, but we never got to "enjoy" it.

Yea, I wish it was smoke free..I have a huge headache when I leave there...it never fails....I wish they at least had a smokers room where smokers could go like what Sandite Billiards has.....I bet that would never happen though:frown:

I practiced a little at Sandite while at Black Gold last year because Magoos was packed. Nice set up and they have a pretty good chili dog. But I didn't like the fuzzy felt on the bar boxes. We ended up practicing for a bar box tourney on the big 9 footer because it was the only one with Simonis. Magoos has a great setup. I've never played or practiced seriously there since I'm only there when I'm visiting friends and we've usually had a few too many by the time we make it there.

I remember the first time we went to Sandites. We both smoked, back then. We thought that room would never work! What a stupid idea! The one thing we really like about their smoke room is the big window. You can go in there and take a couple of puffs, then return to your game, when you see it's your turn, again. You stink like a cigarette that's been put out 5 times, but at least your competitor doesn't have to wait all day for you to return.

Oh man!! Their burgers are super and their steaks and salads are great, too! You are missing out, if you haven't tried them. It's the one place I can't get Gene to eat healthy. He always wants that burger and fries...

Another 4 grueling days of sitting in my broke down computer chair. Can't wait!

Yea, its getting close.....I am gonna wear a black and white checkered thong so everyone knows its me....I may also wear my big purple pimp hat and matching flip flops...depends on the weather really

I agree, Sandite has some awesome food....I HATE the cloth on the bar tables though :frown:

Magoos has some of the best food you can get at a pool hall...and the prices are very good...lots of rom to play pool and lots of room to eat as well.....you wont be dissapointed if you show up (unless you dont like smoke:sorry:) When I come home from Magoos, the wife and son gripe like there is no tomorrow because I stink so bad from the smoke..

Im ready for this weekend!

He and I are one of a few one pocket players here in germany.
Wanted to go with him on both tourneys but too much work.
Can't wait for the stream and updates.
It's a very nice pool place what I see on the pics.
Thanks and GL to all of you for the tourney-
