It can be a pain sometimes. On a new build I cut all my collars in succession off the rod. Especially the atlas mahogany. I've had some rods different color hue off the opposite ends of the same rod.

Its a pain in the ass, and if its just a little off , looks like crap. Not a good subject . Jim
