make my break/jump/play cue pls!

Although it mightn't be your ideal cue, if you are set on a uni loc, Lucasi have one in their L-2000JB model.

i don't c any of his cues using unilock joints..from what i heard, unilock joints need a special machine to make these joints..that's y most makers don't wanna go into it..

Special machines, (No)
You will find quite a few cue makers that just don't like the hit of the uni loc for one reason or another.

I have to agree with that, I have built 5 or 6 with uni loc's over the years and the only one I liked was the one with a solid ivory joint.
Go Figure!

in the j/b cues i have built, the only place to use a unilock joint is in the jump joint. Another problem with a unilock joint is the price. For me it is a $100 option. More expensive to buy and a pain to instal correctly.
Chris

That is just the way I make them and have for many years.

Uni-Loc Pins are very difficult to install correctly and if not done properly the joint will not seat properly.

Here is the link to one I made about 10 years ago for my personal arsenal: http://www.arnotq.com/pages/192/192.html

1 butt n 2 shafts are all i need..

Have ned morris make you this cue. I had one like it he made, break jump play cue it hit awsome. He calls them a triple threat!!!! The price was right to.

I was with you on the uni-loc thing until I got a PFD Titlist conversion with SS uni-loc joint. That cue hits so well that I've softened my stance on uni-loc ... and SS joint .. although I ain't getting another one :D

that's the thing i don't want :)

yeah.. they were popular sellers at the local pool hall i used to go to.. dobnt get me wrong.. they look and are made nice.. i dont know if it was the tip on it or not.. but they didnt break to good.. and we couldnt jump with it.. my advice is find somebody that has one and try it first.. who knows you may like it.. i guess its personal opinion..

The best J/B I've owned was a Ron Waller which had a 3/8-10 wood to wood joint. The Mike Stacey I have now is almost as good which has a 3/8-11 pin wood to wood.

And NO, Ken, you most certainly may NOT buy it back! The Ron Waller is indeed the best J/B I've EVER seen. Or owned. Or hit with. Oh, did I ever say thanks? :D :D

RE: the original post, there is a reason that most Cuemakers won't make that combination for you - it's gonna suck and they know it. It is in fact the Cumakers responsibility to let you know when a certain idea, concept or design just isn't right, or isn't going to produce the desired results.

That cue may have many owners over the years, but it was always be a <Enter CM Name> Cue. Making you happy now just isn't worth the possibility of 20 years of "bad press" that the cue might generate.

Uniloc as a J/B?? Not recommended. Why do you want a custom J/B to begin with? The point is: Which is more important - a cue that breaks down 5 seconds quicker, or a great hitting cue?

I'm afraid that when it comes to hi-performance J/B cues, function trumps form.

just wanted to try out stuff..i believe no1 in my country has such a cue..or should i say only a tinny few hv such a cue in the world..
hit wise i'm fine w even the worst hitting cue..believe it or not i started out playing w a phenolic tip jump/break cue n lasted for almost 8mths..now close to 1 yr, i finally changed cues..
i'm in love w trying out weirdest n newest stuff :p

i dunno... if you think about it. the predator bk and the bk2 are huge sellers because people say they break great.. but in the same notion.. they are unilock breakers.. granted they dont tear apart to a jump cue.. but they still break really strong..
