Making a wrapped cue into a wrappless

Is this even a possibility ??? I've never had a wrap come off any of my cues and never even seen a wrapped cue with the wrap off of it so I really have no idea what it looks like under the wrap of a cue. I'm curious if it can be done and is it cost feasible or would it be more cost effecient to just purchase a wrappless cue.

NO, I am not looking to do this myself, IF it may even be a possibility and doesn't cost more than a nice wrappless cue, I'de be seeking someone to do this for me. Thanks for any and all opinions.

Depends on how much you want to spend on a wrapless cue. You can get a nice custom wrapless for probably $350 up to infinity. The augmentation job would likely cost around that $350. I'd recommend asking Ryan at RAT Cues. He's a member here, goes by RAT or RATCUES, something like that. He's good at this type of thing. But he also builds great cues so you might ask him about building a new cue & weigh the cost difference.

Thanks so very much for the straight up honest answer. I am looking to spend around $350.00-$400.00 for a wrapless cue and at the present time I don't have a "specific" cue in my collection I wanted to do this to, I was just curious if it was a possibility and what it would take to get one done, by "estimatation" of course, I know the cost to get one done could vary greatly. Thanks again for the great response.

I am by no means knowledgeable in cue building, but isn't it possible to clear coat over an existing linen wrap to give it a wrapless feel? kind of like a meucci, but smoother without the ripples? I'm curious now too ( :
