making an olhausen table play better

hey guys i might be doing some work on an olhausen, i was wondering what you fellas would recommend using for replacing the rails and getting a better pocket drop on those chits lol.

Preferably i want it to bank like a good gold crown does, at a minimum it can stay like it is. I def dont want it to bank like a diamond, love those tables to death but i dont like how they bank...

its one of the 9ft black champion tables.....

You're in a tough spot .
Olh's rails are low . They have their own K66 cushions that are kinda soft with no canvas on top.
Can't use real K55 cushions b/c the subrails will not hold them.
And that table's frame is plywood.

Ok thanks Joey. The Rails actually play fine. It's the Dam pockets. I know how to make it play well there, by making the rail ends the right proportion from front of pocket to back....mostly always wondered why they seem to bobble balls do much that other tables don't? Even really tight tables don't do that like that and diamonds only seem to do it because of that deep shelf but it's not nearly as often or aggravating.

I know when I should make a ball. When I missed for certain and their pockets just do weird things.

Almost snooker table weird. But their wickets aren't made to be touched when pocketing so that's expected.

Wonder if it's the softness? That causes it? Will def shim the pockets anyways and I know that I can get diff stiffnesses in that harder/softer. Hopefully with some shims, new cloth and a half inch diff from front to back of pocket will solve the issue. Will probably end up going 4.25 to 3.75 in the corners.

Wonder if adhering a layer of good canvas with some contact cement on top the rails would give them a little more resiliency?

It is caused by a combination of the pocket opening and the down angle, really only fixable by extending and recutting the pocket angles. This has been discussed at length in the Talk to a Mechanic sub forum.
