First off, I'll admit that I have only spent a few minutes of thinking on this concept 
but, it came to me when I read a post in another thread that mentions the need for a different game, as well as fan cheering.
Fan participation came to mind and noise, cheering and fun in general came to mind when I thought of a game we used to play called 1 + 3.
Its a rotation game where all 15 balls are used. Seven points per game are the 3 5 8 10 12 and 15, as well as the cumulative total of points on balls pocketed which is called "game".
Its played with 4 people, each game starts without partners and whoever makes the 1 is partnered with the person who makes the 3. If the same person makes both, it goes to the next money ball. If you can make all the money balls on your own, everyone pays you the value you place on a "point".
We used to enjoy laughing and watching some amazing shots being made thoughout the game.
Perhaps some variation of a 15 ball rotation game where audience members are allowed to draw cards with something like a player's name and ball number on it and a particular rack number. For example, Fast Eddie 3 ball in game #5.
If that player makes that particular ball ... in that particular game, the audience member with that combination of numbers wins a prize.
Who knows .... I'm reaching .... .LOL .... but it could be fun.
Maybe even a 1-900 phone number for folks at home to call in to get a combo number while paying a 50cent fee or something that went into the prize pool.
