There's a used Makita 9031 1 1/8 inch belt sander on ebay if anyone is interested. $159 buy it now, no shipping. Those babies ain't cheap, are they?

I forget what I paid for mine but it is one of the best tools ever for rail rubber work.
I'm thinking they were around $229 new.

There's a few on there that are new for around $250 or a little less. After looking at the ones at Home Depot, I just didn't expect them to be that much. That's ok, though. I decided after reading all of the posts that I should have a new one. RKC and everyone else said the same thing you did. I just thought someone might want a backup
