Manalo vs. Hohmann

I like Manalo simply because it's against the odds. I really feel Hohmann is the favorite, and that's why he'll lose it.

Too tough to call...

The ony factor that could sway me either way is to know how wealthy these two great players are, and the risks they are willing to take in business.

Considering this match is worth 250K, it will be interesting to see how they hold up after a grueling week of playing high level pool. Race to 15?
Anything is possible and I would think no lead is safe.

About a decade ago I saw Hopkins being dominated by Efren 10-1 going to 13, at the Sands in Reno. even though Efren won, Hopkins showed the power of a poised professional and caught Efren at 11-11. I felt Efren lucky to have won the last two games.

This is tough to call. Although it is very fitting that a german and a filipino meet at the finals (i kept repeating earlier on that it would be either an all-filipino or all-german final). and it's good in a way that it's manalo and hohmann. i wouldn't have been able to stand the excitement of an efren-ralf finals (looks like efren finally found ralf's weakness).

hohmann's been in a number of finals and has won more than his fair share. he's definitely the favorite but i hope manalo wins it if only to add to the growing number of pool superstars. i know manalo's been a favorite for some time now but a win here would legitimize everything.

It's a tough call but I think I am going with Manalo. He just seems so steady and unflappable whereas I think Thorsten still gets wound up inside. Although you'd never see it by his game demeanor.

Gonna be good that's for sure - much better than the KOH Sigel/Reyes.

He was pretty calm winning that $100,000 from Owen, Morris and Archer just then. I hope he's as calm for $350,000...

Um, he dogged the seven pretty good to let Archer back in. Then he got a lucky break to hook Archer after not making any balls on the break. A few different rolls and the tournament could have gone to someone else.

Not taking anything away from Marlon but the Poker Nine Ball thing had rules that favored a lot of lucky rolls. Just as with the 7 Ball format, the Poker 9-Ball rules alter the game signifigantly so that it is much less a game of skill.
