Hey, if someone who is literate in Mandarin Chinese could help me, it'd be great! I need to type a paper for school in characters and I am wondering what is the character or pinyin for 'pool player.' I looked online for it but got táiqiú 台球. But I am not sure if it refers to pool or billiards. It would mean billiard but don't know how to say player in the right context. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Give me a sample of the sentence you need and I can help you. My GF is from Bejing.

I don't speak Mandarin nor can I read Chinese, but I do speak Cantonese (and watch a lot of pool on YouTube with Mandrin commentary) and can provide some insight. I copied and pasted these characters from an online Chinese-English dictionary.

In Cantonese if you want to say player you would say, "球手" (literally: ball hand, but in this case the character 手 can be also used to describe someone who is specializes in something when used with another character). Pool is "桌球". Pool player is 桌球手. To break in Mandarin is 衝球 (charge/rush ball).
