Marco Zanetti -- 2020 in review and the future

Marco Zanetti owes me one euro. I attended the 3C world championship in Bordeau a few years back. In the lobby of the venue they had a table set up and for one euro you got 3 chances to shoot from one end of the table to a fixed target at the other end. I had just finished my turn, which he had watched after he had come out of the match room, and he said, "I want to try it, can anyone lend me a euro?". So I lent him the euro. Never got it back, and I didn't care if I got it back. My brush with greatness.

Were you supposed to get two euros back if you hit the target?

No, we weren't competing directly with each other. It was like a closest to the pin contest held over the course of the tournament. They gave nice prizes for the three best (one was a cue and I don't remember the others) and then lesser prizes on a random basis to a certain number of the also-ran entries.. In the latter category I got a DVD of highlights from some prior WC. But it was in the European format that I wouldn't be able to play, at home. So I gave it to a kid I had noticed, about 9 years old, who had been avidly watching the matches.
