Mark Bear Cue value

Can anyone give an estimation on the value of this cue? It's a Mark Bear recently refinished by Proficient Billiards.

Only thing is the M Bear signature is no longer on the cue, this no nothing to do with Proficient and wasn't on it when I gave it to them. The picture of the signature is an old picture, the others are current.

I have it on good authority this cue was made for Rodney Morris.

Let me know what you think please.

Thanks in advance.

While I own one Mark Bear cue, and several others built with Mark Bear full splices, I have no option on the worth of your cue. However I believe that Black-Balled also owns some and is big fan (how many ya got Walter ?) ... I personally would have confidence in his opinion.

Damn, me too!

B-pat...just noticed you are in England. You gotta sit on that cue. That might be worth a lot more in 10 or 20 yrs. mark was a very well regarded cuesmith, for his technical expertise, personality, dealings and especially his wood selection.

Keep it. Unless you need some crack. In that case, fire away.

I'd say inline with some others Merry Widow cues by decent cue makers , I'd put it at around the 750 range give or take ,,
He full splice cues or a rare 6 pointer like Chris Loar has is more of a collection type cue in a certain market ,, he was a maker fond of full splice makers of yesterday cues and made a great full slice blank , I'd love to have to one myself he was a purist, that simply didn't get enough exposure to make his cues real valuable

I am pretty sure that I remember having an Abear sneaky style cue back in around 2008. I thought it was only around a $300 cue, at the time. Have they gone up in value since then? Just curious.

It's A Mark Bear cue not ABear cue. Nor the Bear cues that sponsored Bustie. It's also not the famous Budweiser Beer cues which are of-course are the best hitting ones.

It was probably worth less, and certainly is now. As the market saturated with more cue makers every day, sneakies are dropping quickly in price.

Abear and Mark Bear are very different

Have Rodney confirm this and you'll have some buyers!

All depends. One of my Sneakies is 'pricele$$' - Would not take a Ebony Nosed SW for it HaHa.

The sneaky style cue that I had was signed "Abear". It was surely a custom made cue, not an import, or production cue. I do not think I paid more then around $200 for it, and I think that is probably about the same amount of money that I got back out of it when I sold it. The one I had was a pretty plain looking sneaky style cue though.

Oh, okay. I took a 2nd good look, and I see now that the signature is "M Bear" on the OP's cue, not "Abear". Sorry.

Yeah, all except for Scruggs sneakies. They seem to be more valuable then ever.

And before your words quoted above take on a different meanin than you initial intent:

Mark Bear did not convert house cues or use blanks created by others.

He was a true artisan who made his own blanks.
