I am looking for opinions and pics if possible. I am going to have Mark make me a fullsplice sneaky and would love to hear what others have to say.
Once I get it and play with it I will post a review.
So far I have found him to be a great guy and very easy to work with.

Thanks,
Koop

i ordered one awhile back and had a great experience.he had one in stock and was very freindly and helpful.

the fit and finish was pretty good and the hit was good too.

A friend of mine here in VA has one. It's a dark rosewood into curly maple with a maple sleeve added.

It's a very nice cue but the butt is very slim, so make sure you talk to him about his dimensions to see if they'll work for you. I assume this was to account for my friend's weight preference (he likes a light cue). Also it has a laminated shaft which I believe is one of Mark's options.

I've only hit a few balls with it so I can't comment on the playability, but hopefully this info helps.

I just got 2 cues from Mark. 1 fullsplice with veneers and 1 half-splice Plain Jane. Mark is by far one of the nicest cuemakers I have talked to. He is very upfront with you on what he can do. I highly recommend him. I have not had a chance to take pics of my cues yet, but as soon as I do I will post them with a review.

Thanks guys, appreciate the info and I will post a review of mine once it's complete.

Regards,
Koop

Koop, I'll try to snap some pics of my friend's cue and bring them to the Expo. I'll be there on Sat, look for a 6 foot long-haired white dude. I look more like a roadie (music that is) than pool player.

"And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said imagine that, huh, me working for you"

Didn't Tesla sing that song :) Just kidding, I know it's a recycled oldie.

Or:

"All the same old cliches,
"Is that a woman or a man?"
And you always seem outnumbered,
you don't dare make a stand"

I currently own below cue and have owned ebony/ivory version of same design previously. I was disappointed with point/veneer work on the ebony/ivory cue as there were noticeable flaws. I did not think the point/veneer work was clean enough for a cue that is $$$$. I bought the cue from Dick Abott at www.billiardcue.com and was able to exchange the cue for another cue.

However, I bought below cue from secondary market and am very impressed with the cue. On this cue the point/veneer work is fine. And I think the design is really really trippy and unique. The cue plays very well although admittedly, I play with another cue maker's shaft on this butt (I like very stiff hitting shaft). Butt is on the slim side and the finish is OK (I remember having to towel down the butt as it gets a bit sticky).

Based on my experience with two cues, I'd have to look at the cue in person or have full right of return agreement before I consider buying another one.

Cocobolo double splice with a buffalo horn joint and butt with nickel silver and stitch rings.

Jazz i have always wanted that cue.i saw it somewhere a long time ago, maybe his website.that cue is very cool.

Hi Don,

I've been well and gearing up for VF in a couple of days. Hope to see you there if you're going.

I'm sure I can be persuaded at later date when you start making some trippy design cues :D

Koop, you're welcome as always. Also I noticed someone else mentioned the slim butt. And one of my shaft is laminated one ... never really played with that shaft as surprisingly, it deflected quite a bit. I'm sure you're planning on sticking on Universal shaft anyway.

I recently had a chance to hit with a Universal shaft with think taper (similar to Z shaft) and it plays damn stiff!!!

I saw Mark's jumpcues featuring a purpleheart-shaft on billiardcue.com; does anyone know if Mark also makes breakcues like that?

Greetings,

Greetings,

I'm sure if you contacted him it would be no problem.
He's a very nice guy and easy to work with.

A fellow league player has a purpleheart shaft for his breaker and I'm pretty sure Mark Bear made it for him.

Hm, he hasn't answered so far. Are you sure the mail-address on his homepage is right? In the blue book (printed 2 years after last homepage-actualisation) is another address?
...
Greetings,
