Just wanted to say that I love Oklahoma, in the space of 10 minutes ran into all three of these great shooters.. Do you guys live near or see any great shooters regularly?

What is Chip's last name? I know of a Chip Klein that plays great that has been traveling through Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida and around over there. He's a different breed of pool player, honest and not in it for the hustle. Hell of a great guy to;) :) .

Yeah Hillary, when I saw the post it made me think of Chip Klein too. He's a really good guy and a great player. There was even a video of him playing in a Florida tourny floating around the web a while back.

Have gotten to see James Walden play many times... he is from OK

He amazes me everytime I watch him....

Also Gabe Owens and Shane McMinn used to come through Memphis alot...
both from OK and both good players

Chips a young guy, he beat earl strickland in the open this year in the losers bracket, have met james walden, hes great too.

I have that video floating around somewhere. That was not his best game, it didn't do him justice and knowing him, he was probably a tad bit camera shy, lol:rolleyes: . It's nice to know that he's getting out there and playing and I hope he keeps playing:) .

This Chip did play the US Open but did not beat Earl. Certainly capable though:) .

I used to play with these guys at Chester's in OKC. Chip gave me the six when he was 17. He then told me to stay away from his buddy Joey. Joey is the better player and could probably give Chip 10-7 in one hole.

Last time I saw them was at the Shooter's ring game. Chip gave me the 7 and we broke even. Joey was playing in the ring game, and at one point he fired off 5 straight racks, but he ended up going dry and getting knocked out early.

Chip found some one hole action with Danny Hill. A big black dude that plays pretty good one hole. He gave Chip 9-8 on Danny's breaks and even on Chip's. Chip SMOKED HIS ASS. In a five ahead set, he beat him in six games. Dann'y backer was like "GodDamn...I shoulda known better than to mess with these Oklahoma boys!"

Joey came up to me and said "what'r they doing?" I told him and he was like "What? Chip doesn't play one pocket!"

I am gonna find them some games when they come back up here (Pac NW).

After the ring game, Chip and Joey stayed in Olathe for about a week playing the owner and others. Think they made like five figures.

I was so proud to see my Okie brethren, like James Walden, Shane McMinn and others do so well at the ring game.

I forgot the guys name, but Billy Incardona was matching up all week with a Tulsan. Anyone remember his name?

The Chip you are referring to is Chip Compton. He is a common pool hall name here in OKC. Chip and Joey Grey are good friends and have been for a long time. Joey may be the better player between the two. I don't know them personally but see them around from time to time. Another guy to watch out for is a guy named Shawn King. He is not quit the player these two are but close.
