Marking a shaft

I thought the idea behind squirt reduction is to get the pivot point of the cue directly at the fulcrum of the bridge at the time of CB contact.
To be clear, that doesn't reduce squirt; it's one way of figuring out how much to compensate for it on any given shot.

And since swerve is almost always present, the "pure" pivot point is almost always an overcorrection for an actual shot - and worse than that, the amount of actual correction needed (the "effective" pivot point) changes from shot to shot.

Cornerman:
... the majority of people who want to reduce squirt want to get the least amount of squirt compensation.
Yeah, that's me.

I actually am one of a few that would rather add squirt to a low squirt shaft to get the pivot point right around a natural bridge length. For BHE users, this, IMO, would make sense.

That choice makes sense to me, but for myself I don't like the potential drawback of encouraging a more limited range of distance/speed/spin to stay in the "pivot point comfort zone".

It could certainly be a goal for squirt reduction (to get the effective pivot point about where the bridge is), but the majority of people who want to reduce squirt want to get the least amount of squirt compensation.
