I and Marty shook our hands and decided to complete the deal.

I just got the cue and he got his check today mailed by Fedex over night. The first check never got to his mail, strange.

I'm so happy with the cue so I'm Making it my playing.

The whole story turned into 180degrees but it's godd when it ends up good.

Thank you Marty and will deal with you again.

I do apologize for my quick reaction on your first mail.

Marty

Vass,

I'm glad things worked out on your deal with Marty. I've dealt with him in the past and he's not the easiest person to deal with, but i've always been the seller on our deals so i've never bought from him. I read some of your original post about Marty and I was hoping that things would work out and it sounds like they have.

I see you're playing with a James White cue.

How do you like it?

Can you compare to any other cue?

Thank you

Vass

Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. There is another potty mouth on this board. I avoid 'em.

I hate to make the waters murky, but I've had a bad experience dealing with Marty in conjunction / on the behalf of a friend.

The transaction involved a trade: A newer Cognoscenti loaded with ivory FOR an older Skip Weston custom cue.

Marty informed us that there was one previous owner of the cue before him. And that the cue was in great condition.

Upon receiving the Skip Weston from Marty, we discovered some major blemishes in the clear coat of the cue. The veneers in the cue didn't "feel" quite right, almost as if they were raised out of the cue. The cue hit fine and other than a little buffing, it seemed okay.

Until, one day when my buddy was playing and hit a medium firm ball that just didn't sound quite right...

There was a four inch crack in the shaft starting at the collar and going straight up the shaft. So this made us raise an eyebrown and we decided to send the cue out to Skip Weston himself and have him do a complete refinish and make a new shaft.

As soon as Skip Weston received the cue, he contacted us stating:

1. The pin was anchored 1/4 of an inch lower than normal.
2. The ivory collar on the joint was not original.
3. The cue had been completely refinished unprofessionally.
4. The signature on the cue was not his! (Although the cue itself was.)

So, roughly $700 dollars later and a few months of stress, the cue is now mint. The condition it should have initially been in. However upon contacting Marty, he didn't seem to care about our problems. He simply told us that he "didn't know nothing".

I'm not trying to bash him, just stating some facts.

Thanks,

Pool Loft Dave
