Will this be streamed -- do you have a site?

Hi cmbwsu - not sure if this will be streamed but it has not been in past years. Last year I reported in the forums and via updates on the homepage as to the happenings, but not sure if I will be onsite this go-round yet since I have moved further away from the venue. Based on seeing you post this same message in several threads, I assume you stream events?

No I am just a stalwart proponent of live streaming our game. Aside from being a great promotional tool, it enables many lovers of the game to sweat matches, hook up with friends in the chats, learn, discuss new equipment, etc -- all in real time.

There are so many of us that just can't go to events because of varied circumstances (mine being health) so I created a thread on AZ awhile back (at signature below) containing "non-banger" streams. Had you replied to the affirmative, I would have then asked if you wanted to be added to the list. I can no longer play and am not techniclly savvy enough to stream; however, I darn sure can help promote the game we love so much in this way!

I have over twice the amount of sites that are on the list but want to make sure they are not bangers. If things look hunky-dory, I will contact them, ask if they want to be on the list, and encourage them to join the BLF (Billiard Lunatic Fringe) here on AZBilliards.

IMO, the BLF is being overlooked by the media and this is a way that can hopefully be overcome.

Maryland 14.1 Open

I am playing this year after watching the tournament last year and being totally impressed by the venue. Peter Burrow's, the Tournament Director, runs a class A event. The tournament is being held at Big Daddy's. A first rate room and the ownors, Rick and Cindy, are first class people as well. Are any other AZ'ers playing in the event?

I won't be playing because I am a very weak 14.1 player, but this is my home room so I will most likely be there hanging out and sweating the action.

I intend to be there and hopefully put brackets up on AZ if all works out to allow that (like last year)....

Thanks

I don't want to yell, hey is that you Inside English!!! What is your real name so I can find you? My real name is Frank Wojciechowski. You will see me in the tournament program. Look forward to meeting you.

I don't know all of the details and I don't mean to leak anything, but I believe the organizers of this event are in the process of putting together an impressive amount of added money for the prize fund. Hopefully, this will attract some of the top straight pool players and it will be a great tournament.

I've paid my entry. Just gotta practice a little more these last few weeks.

Hi Folks,

Had considered playing this year. E-mailed Big Daddy's about the event. Wanted to know if there was any added money. Got an e-mail back saying nothing had changed. Now there were only $250 entries available. I re-read the "flyer". Didn't see anything about a limited number of $100 spots available. Not going to travel to Maryland and pay to play as a pro. I'll leave that for Sigel. Very disappointed. They should have said something up front.

Try to contact Peter Burrowes

He may have more information about the other spots. I attended the event last year did not play. There were many B,C an D players at this event and sure the cream rises to the top but many B,C an D players of the were playing on Sunday. But even for the $250.00 that is a cheap weekend of lessons in a game which will help in more ways than one in our other games we play.

Jeeves,

Thanks for the post. It was Peter who told me only $250 spots were available. I've been playing for nearly fifty years and would place myself as a "weak" A player. I played much stronger when my daily competition was the great Pat Howey. I can use the extra $150 for other uses. I just wished they had mentioned on their flyer there was a limited number of $100 spots. I assumed (my fault) the spots were based on known ability.

I'm in. I need some crash courses in straight pool before the tournament. Unfortunately, I had knee surgery on May 22 and I am supposed to be on crutches for 4-6 weeks. I am optimistic that I will be off the crutches about a week before the tournament. How bout I come over with dinner every night the week before the tournament :) Dinner in exchange for straight pool strategies.

Hey Mapman,

Sounds good. I haven't played much either lately and need to get some hours of play in. Let me know when you're walking again and ready!
