Keiths recommendation for the Planet Pool tournament at Bill & Billys'. The competition is great, and well worth anyone's time that takes the game serious. Mike, Nick & Andy run a great program.
For anyone now familiar with the area, use MapQuest. Its easy to get to, just over the river, past Annapolis, on Rt-2 (Richie Highway), exit off Rt-50. Take Rt-2 and make a U-Turn at the second light, Bill & Billy's on the right in a small commerical park, look for the sign on the right about half/mile after the U-Turn. Easey to miss if your not carefull but Keiths comments are accurate, its a great place and great tournament, food is not great and no alcahol
(bummer).

T411,

Bill & Billie's is less than 30 minutes from Andrews AFB.
We're expecting around 100 players for the Open division Saturday morning.

I probably will be. If I do show up, it would great to meet you, too. Hopefully, I'll have my "A" game, but I haven't been playing much. Maybe I'll have a flashback. ;)

Hey Keith have you ever been to U.S.A Billiards?

Yeah, I have. I have a couple of friends over there, and there's a couple of guys I like to play at USA Billiards. There always seems to be a little something going on. :)

Com on guys

No alcohol, microwaved hamburgers, and insufficiant parking. Let's be honest here!! On the other hand, nice tables and staff.

I like to play at U.S.A billiards, No booze people only want to play pool and No BS and you can find pretty good action and a all around friendly place

USA Billiards is the only "REAL" pool room in all of northern virginia/DC/maryland (the DC suburb part).

This area, unlike Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware is populated by rooms that are clubs more than pool rooms. I've been to all 5 of the Champion Billiard chains, all three of the Fast Eddie's chains, and all of the other crap rooms in that area (including the room in Sterling that Big Jerry plays at) -- and none of them caters to pool players (and action) except USA Billiards (and Hi-Cue Billiards in Arlington).

And for a one pocket area like DC/MD/VA, I find it amazing that USA Billiards is the only room that has anything resembling a tight table. The Champions and Fast Eddie's rooms refuse to put anything but buckets in their rooms.

At a pool room, I'd rather have a staff supportive of action than a beer anyday.

Yes, I practically lived at Rack n Roll this past summer, and they do have one tight table, but don't mistake "barking" for "action". There is only person who'll bet his own and bet it up at Rack n Roll, and that's Iranian Freddy, but he cheats so goddam much that it's not even worth playing him.

All the rest of the players there are nits, who won't lose a dollar and who won't think twice about quitting you stuck or cutting up their backers.
