The one thing I take away from the Mosconi Cup every year is that Matchroom knows how to properly produce a pool event.
I agree but I do think this year's production was down just a bit.
I think the commentary was pretty poor by some. I won't bother saying by who.
I think Jim Wych does a really good job and always seems to be prepared. Some of the others seemed lost -- always predicting the wrong shot and constantly looking at the wrong ball. At times I questioned whether or not a certain commentator had even played pool.
I think Jay Helfert was missed.
Also, the under the table lighting was interesting. The only thing it seemed to be good for was showcasing the sloppily laid bridge and rack, as they were just thrown under the table instead of placed in a rack. I know it's a small point but I think those items should be placed somewhere and not just thrown on the floor.
Having said that -- of course Matchroom does an overall great job of producing pool matches.
While some people were complaining about the rowdy fans ... I like that aspect of the MC event. I think it adds a lot of added pressure for the players to compete in. I think it makes the spectacle more exciting. It is so much better than watching something like the Japan Open (e.g. BORING).Don't know if this has been said about the Mosconi cup or not?
Anyway bear with me! First and foremost is the teamwork shown on this years team was in my opinion Excellent! Thank you for the crowds at this years cup at Blackpool.
Thank you to all the Europe fans for the celebration at the end. Very proud of the freshman part the team, both Justins played great. Shane had a lot of pressure on his sholders on the last day. I think the team needs to be tweaked a little bit.
