It's a nice break with some great pressure shot!
I think the claim was that it is the first recorded maxi in USA.
Ahmed, Renat and Tom have all made 147s in practice (USA players). If America includes Canada than obviously Cliff has made a 147 on TV, and I'm sure Alain, Jim, Kirk, and Bill have made many in practice. (Let alone newer players like Jason, Vito and Levi)
So the "recorded" and "USA" disclaimers are doing a bit of heavy lifting. Judd's and Shaun's visit to the USA recently did not result in a recorded 147. Being skeptical is good, and carefully reading the disclaimers is better. As they say: "technically correct is the best kind of correct!"
If the reader infers that it was the first ever maxi in the Americas, they'll be sorely disappointed.
