Maybe 6-balls is not a bad idea

Reading about all the 6-ball talk the last few days makes me wonder if 6-ball amateur tournaments might do well. Forget about the pros, shortstops, and "A" players for a minute. If it would get new players and casual players back into pool, that would be a good thing. As they got better they would start entering 8,9, and 10-ball tournaments. A lot of them would get good enough to feel comfortable entering regional tours and some will get good enough for the open events. More tournament players=more purse money for all.

Maybe a race to 5 or 7 with alt break would work, and would go fast. Who knows even TV might like the fast games of 6-ball. Johnnyt

I agree it would be fun for Amateur B and lower. I don't think alternating breaks are necessary, it's tough to make a ball on the break.

But I sincerely hope I never see a pro 6 ball tourney.

I said "B" and down. Last time I looked Corey was a pro. Johnnyt

that's why I quoted Cameron's post....answering his "hope to never see a pro 6 ball tourney" line.....
