Maybe a 31" butt is the answer. Help?

I thought of having a 60" cue custom built. Now I've decided that all I really need is a 31" butt that I can use with my 314 predator shaft (5/16x14 piloted joint w/black collar). I would want the end of the butt (bumper end) the same diameter as a standard butt, or about 1.75" - 1.3". It doesn't have to be gussied-up with inlays, but something a little fancier than a sneaky. Maybe like something along the lines of the Jacoby Hustler models with a wrapless butt.

Who (besides Mr. Jacoby himself of course) would be a good cuemaker to contact for this project?

I would think just about every cuemaker on here could handle it for you. It all comes down to price.

Well like Chris said. Just about all of us can build that butt end for you! we would need to know what the diameter of your shaft collar is to build the butt to match.

fitting in a case might be a problem cue with pin and bumper will be like 32.5'' long +/-

I've already thought of that. I think the upside of the 31" butt would defeat the downside. And, it would ALMOST fit in my Instroke case. If I go this route, I may have to alter a soft 1x1 case to carry this butt in.
I may be PM'ing some cue makers in a week or two.

Visit the cuemakers or their websites for information. As Chris said we all can handle your needs. Your desires may be another issue($$$). If I can help let me know. Good luck in your search.

You might want to consider making a joint extension or end of the butt extension for your existing cue and make sure you really like the extra length before having a cue made.

Chris makes a very good point. Try before you buy.
Also, it's much easier to lengthen an existing cue by an inch or two than it is to build a new cue from scratch. I actually have seen 1 inch removable extensions.

Just this past weekend I tried out a 60" cue a fellow AZ'er had for sale. As I stand 6'1" with really long arms, I found the extra 2" to my liking. But I got to thinking that since I use Predator shafts on most of my cues, why not just get a 31" butt made, since I wouldn't need the shaft anyways.

I have Dave Jacoby working on me a 31" butt to my specs as I type this.

Thanks for all the input!!!
