Hello one question about mc dermott cues, a friend got him self a new one. First the balance point was in the wrap way to far back and the hit was far from distinct.
In my world this was not a good player at all, i have heard nothing but good things abut Mc Dermott, i?m confused!!!

My playersare Helmstetter, Doc Holliday and Omen.
The helmstetter is by far a better player...

What is the tip diameter, the kind of joint(ss/implex), and weight of the cue as a whole?

I have mcdermott myself and the balance point is about 18 inches from the bumper, that with my shaft weighing 3.2 oz w/12 mm tip and a implex joint. The front end of my cue (joint and shaft) is pretty light but good thing i play with a light cue or my cue would seriously be butt heavy.

Mcdermotts use heavy weight bolts that thread right at the end of the butt unlike a meucci that thread all the way down in the middle of the wrap.

So a fatter shaft and ss joint collar/sleeve would definitely balance a butt heavy mcdermott.

Wood 2 wood

The joint is wood 2 wood 13 mm 19 oz, the cue has no good balance why? It has wood 2 wood that should not be a problem for the balance...
