Mcdermott 3-piece travel cue

Poison had one, with two shafts. Out of production now.

This McD has been out for a while.

I am very curious about it because it will fit in my Harley saddle bag. Never tried one though.

.

I have sold some of these to bikers that have saddle bags.....It hits really stiff....jumps really well...and if you have a shorter stroke it may work for you. I think it is an excellent pick up for the price.

Exactly. If you have a short stroke they may be fine. If your stroke is average length or longer, well, I would probably do as I did.

I bought a stinger, had a mid cue ext made and a shorter shaft custom made with a special taper that allows my normal stroke.

Very simple:

Buy a cheap jump/break and have a custom shaft built for it.

???

The travel cue in question is cut into three pseudo-equal lengths for easier transport in a smaller (21") case.

I have two such cues (Sheldon Lebow and Andy Gilbert) with their respective cases (JBCase).

Freddie <~~~ needs more travel with such travel cues

I had.a stinger cut and g10 pin added and a mid cue ext with g10 and then shaft just short enough to fit in bag that had a str8 taper almost to the joint so it would not effect my stroke on follow through.

Sold my bike and threw the cue in with sale. I regret both.

Freddie, I will take one off your hands if you're not using them.

From April till mid November I'm touring somewhere on my bike. I bought one when they first came out and they do fit in a Harley bag or tour pac and the Can Am frunk too. Robin mentioned the stiff hit. I don't know about that but I noticed I got a very strong draw from it. I really had to dial it back on stop and draw shots.

It's nice to know you have a straight cue with a good tip anytime you're passing through East Cowpoop, Montana.

Wow that's nice Lou. I wish I played well enough to justify buying one. I like that the mid section matches the butt. My only complaint with the Star is I find black middle distracting.

I've got the same thing as Lou but with a black custom case with white stitching. I'll sell if someone is interested in the case and the cue, it has lots of joint protectors... think about it.

I've probably played with it less than a dozen times over the years.

I think I'm selling the crap out of this thing!

PM me if interested and I'll send some pics.

Great job, but none of this is comparable to the 3-piece travel cue. And your complex work certinaly didn’t compare to this:

People should either buy the McDermott travel cue, which solves a whole lot, or do the extraneous stuff you did that doesn’t? No brainer to me, dont you agree?

Freddie <~~~ problem solved means no problem

It's just nice to have a familiar piece of hardware with you when you travel.

On my cue, the brown fiber ring in the middle disappears after a awhile and you honestly don't even see it after about 20 minutes of play.

I did buy the readymade cue but my stroke did not work well with it. Trust me, my game suffers bad enough so I HAVE TO go the custom route.

Everyone's not a world beater. Heck, I barely can win when playing by myself.....and that's only if I cheat.

Lol

I’m currently playing with a custom prototype 3 piece carbon fiber cue. Each section is 20” long. Hits very similar to my Revo shaft Diamondwood cue. I do need a case for it
