Hello, a few questions.
I will start with the McDermott D16. It has what looks like a brass colored joint. It looks though like on the inside of the joint it looks more steel like in color.
The whole stick has a very heavy finish on it over the wrap as well. I am wondering is this just the color of what steel looks like with a heavy finish on it?
I have an pretty familiar with McDermotts and have probably own several dozen over the years and have never seen this.

The other questions I have are about current Fellini and Ann Gore case values are currently.

Pictures of the McDermott and Fellini and Ann Gore cases that I am curious about are below.

Uggg, sorry about the duplicate pictures. If someone can tell me how to fix I will.
I am absolutely not tech savvy

Thanks Albo-Gator that’s exactly what I was looking for on the McDermott.
Any idea how that German Silver joint play’s?

joint has little-to-zero effect on how cue plays. plays like any other mcdermott i'm sure.

I don’t remember D Series having a option for German silver. They had a stainless option. I had a few, still do.

This cue looks like the joint has yellowed paint on it. Looks like it was sprayed sometime since it was new.

I remember when the D series came out and I bought a D-26 with a stainless joint. I own a few D series still, D-19 dice cue is a fun cue for sure. They play better now than when they were new. Time has treated them well.

That Fellini case sure is nice🥰🥰😍

Great pics thx for posting!

Best,
Fatboy 😃 <————2nd good cue was a D series in 1985. I played 4 years (actually 3.5 years) with that D-26. Stainless joint. Then got a SW😁

Silver imo would play exactly like stainless. Hard metal is hard metal. Balance point would be similar and that varies from cue to cue with McD’s because of the weight bolt in the ass end.

I’d like to see a actual advertisement from McD for a silver option. I don’t remember ever seeing that. Maybe I’m old and senile…..

German silver was a real option and was standard issue on some of the earliest models.
I have a B series with this joint and it looks similar. I had to go home and pull the old cue out and see if it looked a little golden and it does.

B series was before me. C series I have only seen the marketing paperwork and ads for a few times (owned 2 or 3 over the years) and know they were great cues, possibly better made than D series.

I don’t remember a silver option. As I said I might have forgot. But it seems like something I’d have remembered and actually tried as I like metal joints. That plastic junk McD used I didn’t like at all and I don’t remember if ivory was a option. Ferrels it was, I had those on my D26.

Thx
Fatboy😃

Still wants to see the brochure

"German Silver" was indeed an option for D series cues...I considered it when ordering a cue once...it's a copper/nickel/zinc alloy. A buddy of mine ordered a Palmer with an engraved German Silver joint, which was an option for one of those lines. It looked sharp and looked silver when new...they get a patina from the copper that looks like brass after a while.

Can you post 1 (😉) picture of the entire butt?
Sorry for the lag in reply Alpha, it’s been a long week 🥱.
I will try and snap a pic tonight of it and post it. The butt cap is pretty beat up and if I keep it I probably will replace it. It appears who ever had it lost the bumper and drop it a bit. No cracks that run through the entire butt cap it’s just that the butt cap is chipped away where the bumper should be.
There is also the previous owners name engraved on the butt cap as well.
Other then that the wood is beautiful I have owned a couple D16s over the years and I like this one the most wood wise.

Thank you everyone for all the information with regard to the joint and values. I really appreciate it!
