I'm looking to buy a new 3/8x10 shaft for an older McDermott D4. Does anyone know the difference between these shafts? I'm looking for a little softer hit than my original shaft and less squirt. Thanks for any help or suggestions on a new shaft.

Put a McDermott shaft on the McDermott

I have a few friends that sent their cue to McDermott- for re wrap -refinish- and the New McDermott shafts- they definitely have less deflection- turnaround was great. They also offer a lifetime tip replacement on Morri-the high end tips!!!! mark

You will get a much stiffer shaft with the OB calssic then the i shaft.
The OB classic was designed specifically to be stiff.
Try one out before you buy it.

Mcdermott now uses Kamui's on the Intimidator shafts. Tip replacement is free on the intimidator shafts; you only have to pay for return shipping which is $15

OB classic was designed to be stiffer than the OB 1, that does not mean it will be stiffer than the Intimidator.

I have tried both and I think the Intimidator is still stiffer because of the graphite core. The ob classic is stiffer than ob1 but still a bit soft in my opinion.

As Twal stated, your best bet is to try out both before you buy. My level of soft maybe your level of hard or firm

i just got an i2 and also have had an ob classic for awhile. i like the classic better...it is stiffer more solid. the i2 is a little too whippy for my taste and has a lighter, hollowish hit. if low deflection is something you desire, the classic has lower deflection...the i2 is only slightly lower deflection than a regular shaft. also the classic is heavier (which i like in a shaft) around 4oz....the i2's are fairly light, around 3-3.5oz.

I got it, thanks!!
