McDermott I3 shaft warped?

Hi Folks!

I recently (Christmas) got an I3 shaft.

I was playing tonight and when i layed my cue on the table to rack, it rolled and look like the shaft was warped just in the mid section. I rolled the cue a few times and the tip is straight (no wobble at all) but the mid section looks like its got an 1/8" wobble to it.

This is the first decent cue i've owned and i'm just wondering if this is typical? since the tip doesn't wobble would it still be considered warped so i should send it in to McDermott under warranty?

Thanks in advance.

Tim

P.S. Great forum! thanks to all you for sharing all the useful information.

Lifetime warranty on McDermott shafts if you bought it from an authorized dealer. If there is a warp, send it back.

Agreed... Unless youv been trying to use it as a pogo stick in cold weather then sitten in the sauna right after shaft should be solid ;)

I've had mine for a year now and i break with it also...and its straight as an arrow....send it back.

I sent my McDermott stinger break cue back because there was a warp(the tip did not leave the table). They sent me a new shaft about 4.5 weeks later. I am very happy with McDermott.

Thanks for the replies all!

I purchased a predator z2 shaft this weekend and sent it in to mcdermott to have them match it to another cue i have. when i get it back i'll be sending the I3 in for repair.

Thanks again it's much appreciated
