McDermott Intimdator shafts

Hey people! Been away from the game for a while, and had a question. I was wondering if the McDermott shafts were still good shaft for the money. I really, don't need the latest greatest shaft, but I don't want a regular shaft either. I would get a partial shaft and have put a custom cue that I plan on having made. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

by all accounts and reviews I've read here, people speak very highly of them. Add in the lifetime warranty, which includes warpage, and the fact that McDermott will clean and re-tip the shaft for free twice a year for life (with a Moori medium tip, which comes standard on the shaft), and it's a good deal for the price IMHO. So much so that I ordered the I-2 myself, from billiards911.com, based on the recommendation of another user here. Billiards911.com sells them for $199.99, but the nice thing is they will price match any competitor price for the same item; billiards.com sells the I-2 for $180 shipped. I had billiards911.com match that price, and then it was an additional $30 for the custom ringwork to match my McDermott M2-9A "Knight" cue, AND they let me use a 10% off coupon, so the final price came to $180 + $30 = $210 - $21 = $189 shipped. :) It should hopefully be here this week.

I personally like them, they are light though, so you might wish to consider that as it may alter the balance point of your cue. I have seen them as light as 3 ozs.

Thanks guys, it's greatly appreciated. I will probably see if I can "skip" the Moori tip if I can, because I play with Molavia's exclusively...well, at least when I played I did.:sorry:  So I'm hoping there's some way I can get the partial without the Moori. Again, thanks for the reply.

Real quick. Does Tiger have a new shaft out now? I seeing this "Ultra" shaft, and I'm wondering is this new or the same shaft? Thanks again.

It is true that McD's are very light shafts, at least my i2, so you might want to try one before you buy if possible. I honestly cannot get used to mine as it screws with the balance of my 19-ish player...but it's a nice shaft nonetheless, especially with a lighter cue I'd imagine. I had a moori soft put on at no additional charge when I sent my shaft in for maintenance. You can choose between hard, med and soft at no extra expense, twice a year, for life. Great service. Good luck in your shaft hunt :)
