I picked up a McDermott D8 at a pawn shop. It needs a new wrap (I can handle this thanks to you guys) but the joint collar has a chip and a crack in it. I would like to replace this collar, but, I am not sure what material to use. Linen based melamine is too white, while MP ivory is too dark (Both from Atlas). So, any advice as to what material should I use to replace that pesky collar with so it is a close match to the butt?

It will be very difficult to match materials because of aging, finish discoloration, ets. It might be that you change out the butt cap also with the same material that you select for the joint collar. If you want to maintain the McDermott logo on the butt cap this will not be possible.
Sometimes you just have to accept that everything is not possible.

Well duh, thanks for pointing out the obvious solution to me William. (Not being sarcastic at you, being sarcastic at ME!) I wonder why I didn't think of doing that in the first place.
Arnot, I like your cues, they look great. It may be that I just replace the butt cap also and not worry about the logo.
Needless to say, I don't have a lot invested in this cue. It was in very sad shape. Somebody had wrapped over the original warp and who knows what happened to the original bumper.

I had one of their old HD series Cues that was bad off. I lost the decals obviously, but I got lucky with It, and the finish was blistering, so I was able to carefully peel away the finish in a spiral pattern. It took quite some time, and I had to use a few tricks to peel the areas that were still sticking well, but in the end I got it all off cleanly, without gouging the cue up in the proccess. The cue underneath the finish was still mint, and easy to clean up, so It did it's job and protected the cue up to that point. It had a super thick epoxy type finish originally, so there were no dings or anything underneath to deal with. I actually still have that cue.

I have contacted their repair department and am waiting to hear the results. They had to check with production first, but, it didn't sound promising over the phone. The material appears to be the same that Viking was using on the VM series. My first guess was for aegis, but, the repair department ruled out that solution. Any other ideas?
