I play with a McDermott M14a that I bought about 20 years ago. I have one of their low deflection shafts from back then and it has developed a little warp.
From what I have read about the Defy they play pretty well but get pretty sticky after a while. I am asking people you have owned the Defy for a while if I should buy one or get one of their G-core shafts.
I have the McDermott quick release joint & don't know the thread size is on that. I don't know if another shaft like a Revo would screw on or not.

The g core is a very good shaft. I played with one for many years. I recently switched to a pechauer rogue cf shaft and like it a lot. Im not a fan of the defy shaft because it has that flashy design on it that would catch my eye and distract me when stroking. Any major cuemaker should have your pin size, and if not, could custom make a shaft for you, at least pechauer can. You can call and ask the maker of your choosing to be sure.

If it's 20 years old, it could be the 3/8x10 or the 3/8x16 quick release. The 3/8x10 has been discontinued but inserts can be made for both.
